Frazee is located in the northern most part of west-central Minnesota. Our school is located on the northern edge of town where beyond our playground and ballfields there is CRP land and to the east is the OtterTail River. The school owns a 10 acre site which includes land along the river. It is at this site that we do our tests and make observations. Our latitude is 46degrees northing,44.043 timing and longitude is 95degrees easting with a timing of 41.776.Canada is our neighbor to the north.

Our school buses children from several communities, making for very long bus rides for a large number of our students. Frazee Public Schools are known for providing excellent education for all students. We have a total student population of approximately 1300 students in K-12.

Our River Project is made possible by a DNR grant that Ms Jacobson, our teacher, and her husband applied for and received. We were able to purchase our LaMotte Water Test Kit, 2 stereo microscopes, and 3pr of neoprene chest waders. It is our plan to test the river at the same site every month, even if it means drilling through the ice! We are lucky to have made a new friend with Donna Dustin, a DNR Fisheries specialist, who comes over and does our testing with us.

Our hypothesis is that the OtterTail River is made up of very clean, clear, fresh water with much wildlife in and around it. I do hope you are able to view the photos that are attached.
