Below are a various enrichment activities that can be used in addition to the real time data activities of the Gulf Stream Voyage.  Please contact the Project Leader if you have any ideas for lessons or activities in this area.

Enrichment #1 - Sea Surface Temperature Contours Determine the location of the Gulf Stream by contouring ship and buoy data in the North Atlantic. (Grades 6 and up)

Enrichment #2 - The River Bottom Determine the bottom of the Gulf Stream using CTD data from a Woods Hole oceanographic expedition. (Grades 6 and up)

Enrichment #3 - Population Explosion (History/Math Lesson) Use 18th century population data to estimate today's population.  Explain variations and differences of your estimates to actual numbers.
