As you may have discovered in Lesson #3, the Gulf Stream doesn't necessarily flow in a straight continuous path.  Since the Gulf Stream is a surface ocean current, that implies water movement is a common direction.  We have to this point used sea surface temperature and sea surface height data to identify the location of the Gulf Stream.
Develop your hypothesis
What information besides sea surface temperature, might show the pathway of the Gulf Stream?

Determine
your data
What data will you need to help prove your hypothesis?

Background Information
Lost and Found: Lesson #3 , Gulf Stream Eddy Formation

Look at Real
Time Data
View the example real time data images and complete your worksheet to chart out the location of the Gulf Stream,  the position of the North Wall, warm-core eddies, cold core eddies and Gulf Stream meanders.

Look at
Historical Data
Does the position of the Gulf Stream change over time?

State Your Conclusions
After viewing the data presented in this activity, state your conclusions.  Do your conclusions agree or disagree with your hypothesis?
