Below are a number of lessons which will guide you on your Gulf Stream Voyage. If this is your first visit to this web site it is recommended that you first read through the Project Instructions.  Unless otherwise directed, start with the Pre-Activity to review some essential concepts.  Your Gulf Stream Voyage starts with Lesson #1 and continues through Lesson #8.  Lastly, when you are done with the lessons, test your knowledge by identifying other ocean surface currents!

Discover how you can use today's technology to locate the Gulf Stream.
Lesson #4 - Rising Up to Meet the Challenge
Determine if the Gulf Stream affects sea surface height.
Lesson #5 - A River in the Ocean
Map the the location and dimensions of the Gulf Stream using today's technology.  Identify features such as the North Wall, warm-core eddies, cold core eddies and meanders.
Lesson #6 - Sailing the Ocean Blue
Calculate how the Gulf Stream can affect ocean traveling in the North Atlantic.
Lesson #7 - Tomorrow's forecast: Sunshine
Find out if the Gulf Stream has any effect on the climate in North Atlantic Regions.
Lesson #8 - Gone Fishing
Learn about the Sargasso Sea and discover how the Gulf Stream can affect biological life and ocean productivity in the North Atlantic.
Test - Other Ocean Currents
Using your knowledge of the Gulf Stream and similar real time and archive data images, identify other major ocean currents around the world and describe them.
