The Cay
Scene 1:
The scene I would do, and make most dramatic and put the most work into would be when Timothy dies. I would make a soft slow song play in the background and I would make Phillip or the character paying Phillip crying. Since this happened after the hurricane I will make it so there is stuff like trees, vines, and the hut on the sand of the cay so it looks like a hurricane really hit the cay that they are on. I will make blood and ripped clothes for when Timothy is lying on the sand of the cay. This will be the most dramatic scene in the movie. I will be sure to do a close up on Timothy dying and Phillip crying. We can play I Miss You by Aaliyah. This will be surely everyone’s favorite scene!
Scene 2:
Another scene I would do is when the hurricane hits the cay. I will make a huge fan blow lots of wind onto the scene where they act as if they are on the cay. I will make it so there are props on the sand of the cay as if the hurricane really hit. We can make close ups on people’s faces when the hurricane hits because they will look terrified and be hanging onto a palm tree so it looks like they really are going to blow away if they don’t hang on. We can play the theme song from Jaws during the hurricane because it will make it scary yet you will want to watch it. This will be a very good scene because I will have music on it and make it look interesting.
What makes a good movie!
-Good actors and actresses playing the part!
-Comedy in the movie.
-Drama in the movie.
-Music in the background.
-Good looking characters playing the parts.
-A good title and cover on the movie case.
-Bloopers in the ending of the movie. ?
How this will make my movie better!
I will make this movie better by adding bloopers in the end of the movie I think that everyone likes watching the bloopers in the end of the film. Also by making the movie have a catchy title and picture on the box cover will grab their attention to buy the movie. If you have some drama in the movie it will make it more interesting to watch because the audience will most likely enjoy seeing some dramatic scenes, I know because I have been an audience to many movies myself and I like to see drama in the film. Also by adding comedy it makes the audience members come back to see the movie again and again. I believe by adding music to the dramatic scenes it makes it an even more exciting scene to watch. I hope with these few extra parts that the audience will enjoy the movie even more than without these added favorites. You really need a movie with suspense and action; this will cause the audience to enjoy themselves while they watch the movie. People, I believe, will enjoy having more realistic scenes like where they take place must go along with what is happening in that particular scene. Since the book was about World War 2 the scenes must be have a lot of action going on in the scene, like war happening in the background while Phillip is talking to his friends it would be nice to show that there is a war going on in the ocean behind them. It must be all about World War 2 going on in a lot of the scenes.
The genre of this book is…
The genre of the book The Cay is Historical Fiction. I would make it Historical Fiction to keep it the same as the book. The movie version of the book The Cay should also be an action film because the author of the book added many action parts to the book so why not keep it the same for the movie, after all it is the same book that it is based on the book to the movie.
Actors and Actresses to play the role!
-Timothy: One actress that should play Timothy should be Bill Cosby. Bill would have to learn calypsos to be more like the character Timothy. Also he would have to have a beard and raged hair. I chose Bill Cosby because he did many television shows before from my knowledge, so he would be experienced in making a movie.
-Mrs. & Mr. Enright: The person that should play the role of Mr. Enright should be Tom Cruise. He would be an experienced actor to play the role although he will have to wear clothes from 1942, not the exact clothes just the style of the clothing if he doesn’t and he wore clothes from our time it wouldn’t look great. So to make this movie we must go on a hunt for clothes from 1942 and buy many outfits to fit our actors and actresses to make the movie a great film!
Another person we would have to get to play the part for is Mrs. Enright (Phillip’s mother) I believe a person that would play her good would be Rosie O’Donnell. She would have to wear a long dress with a button up collar and a big pin on her dress collar. I’m going to go on a web site and try to copy and paste a picture of the clothes they wore.
-Phillip: I then have to pick a child to play the role of Phillip about the age of 11 or 12 years old not too much older. I think that Spencer Breslin would be good at playing the role of Phillip.
Setting:
The setting of my film is going to be on an Island in the Caribbean. A good island would be, Curacao because in the book it took place in Curacao so maybe if the book explained Curacao as good it really would be the same exact location of the book. When Phillip is still living in his house we will make the setting take place in Curacao, however when he must be stranded on the Island with Timothy I will bring them to Trunk Bay, St. John. This will be a good location for when Timothy and Phillip are stranded on the cay. In our case The Cay will be Trunk Bay, St. John. When I look at this picture it looks just like when Timothy (in the book) describes “The Cay.” We would of course have to use big fans and other stuff to make certain scenes, such as we will have to use a big fan to make the hurricane scene. We don’t want this to take years to wait for a hurricane so we will make do with what we have! I believe these Islands would be great for our new movie The Cay! I hope that this becomes the number one hit movie of the year!
Most Important Scene:
The scene I would do, and make most dramatic and put the most work into would be when Timothy dies. I would make a soft slow song play in the background and I would make Phillip or the character paying Phillip crying. Since this happened after the hurricane I will make it so there is stuff like trees, vines, and the hut on the sand of the cay so it looks like a hurricane really hit the cay that they are on. I will make blood and ripped clothes for when Timothy is lying on the sand of the cay. This will be the most dramatic scene in the movie. I will be sure to do a close up on Timothy dying and Phillip crying. We can play "I Miss You" by Aaliyah. This will be my main focus in the movie and it will be my most important scene.
Special Effects:
Things I will use to make The Cay a better movie is use special effects. One special effect I will use will be fake blood on Timothy when Timothy dies; he will have fake blood on his body and ripped clothes on. Another special effect I will use will be a huge fan to make it look like the hurricane hits the Island that they are stranded on. The movie will have much special effects however to make the movie better only when the audience watches it, the special effects will be so good you will think that its all really true!
Sound Track for the movie:
The song I would chose for the movie would be “I Miss You” by Aaliyah. This would be a good theme song for the movie, it would be good because Aaliyah died and other pop-singers are singing the song saying that they love her and they are lost without her. This song would be great to play when Timothy dies and also in the end when the names come up.
Chorus:
It's been too long and I'm lost without you
What am I gonna do
Said I been needin' you
I'm wantin' you
Wonderin' if you're the same
and who's been with you
Is you're heart still mine
I want to cry sometimes
I miss you
Verse 1:
Off to college
Yes you went away
Straight from high school
You up and left me
We were close friends
Awesome lovers
Did everything for one another
Now you're gone
And I'm lost without you here now
But I know I gotta live and make it somehow
Come back to me
Can you hear me (callin')
Hear me (callin' for you)
For you
(repeat chorus)
Verse 2:
Now I'm sittin' here
Thinkin' 'bout you
And the days we used to share
It's drivin' me crazy
I don't know what to do
I'm just wonderin' if you still care
I don't want to let you know
That it's killin' me
I know you got another life
You got to concentrate
Baby
Come back to me
Can you hear me (callin')
Hear me (callin' for you)
For you
(repeat chorus 2x)
Bridge:
I can't think no more
Since you went away
I don't really feel like talkin'
No one here to love me
Baby do you understand me
I can't do a thing without you
(repeat chorus 3x)
