Registration Step 1
Review the Project
Students participating in the Oceans Connecting a Nation project will sample and test water and soil
from local rivers, streams, lakes or ponds. The focus of the project is:
- To assess the quality of water based on physical characteristics and chemical substances.
- To look for relationships and trends among the data collected by all project participants.
All students are welcome to participate, however, this project is recommended for high school
students (ages 14-18) due to the nature of the tests required. There are several interdisciplinary
Classroom Activities to support the student knowledge gained through the water sampling activities.
