Global Sun Temperature Project May 2002 - FINAL REPORTS |
| Lysterfield Primary
School (Years 3 & 4's), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Hi this is from all the Years 3 & 4's at Lysterfield Primary School in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We have really enjoyed this project and it has really helped us with our study of weather. We have also learned about latitude. We found out that lots of schools get more sunlight than us because they are closer to the equator. We also found out that we get more sunlight than some schools because we are closer to the equator. We received an average of 632 minutes per day. Since the project our days are getting shorter as we are moving into winter. There are lots of autumn leaves on the ground and some very misty mornings and we cannot see the hills. If you look at our pictures you will see those hills. We also found out that there are lots of schools that had hotter temperatures than us because they are closer to the equator. There are some schools that had cooler temperatures than us because we are closer to the equator. Our latitude is round about 38 degrees south. Our country is surrounded by water and we have six states. We also learned that how far you are from the sea can affect your temperature. We really enjoyed looking at the photo gallery. We have also enjoyed working together. We have looked at the atlas lots of times. Thank you for the project. |
