From: Grade 5, Science, Kersey, P.A.
Our class really enjoyed the opportunity to
participate in this project. During the week of measuring the
temperature, we broke into teams and took turns checking the temp. We
used www.weather.com to find the sunrise and sunset times. We then found the elapsed time and changed hours/minutes into minutes. One thing most of us learned that we hadn't known before was how to change degrees F into degrees C. Our class came to the conclusion that the further east the schools were located, the more minutes of daylight they had. We also found that in general, the closer to the equator, the warmer the temperature. To come to this conclusion again we broke into groups and plotted the information that had been submitted by the schools. We had a great time and look forward to working on another project again soon! |
