Partner Projects

  • Pulse of the Planet’s Kids’ Science Challenge -- is a nationwide competition for third to sixth graders to submit experiments and problems for real scientists and engineers to solve. It will use an innovative range of new and traditional media -- lesson plans for classrooms, podcasts, virtual communities, after-school activities, online games -- and students can earn fun incentives and win prizes while learning about science.

  • Is Your Bus Exhausting? - - This air quality curriculum is designed to incrementally lead students, Grades 6 – 8, through Internet-based and hands-on learning experiments to discover not only the science behind air quality, but also the health implications related to poor air quality exposure.
  • The Morgan Tutorial -- a web-based hypermedia tutorial which investigates the field of genetics. Developed by the Waksman Institute at Rutgers University.
  • Learning through Collaborative Visualization -- The NIE project supports and promotes this project which brings together students, teachers and researchers to find new ways to think about and practice science in the classroom.
  • The Leo-15 Ocean Research Station Data and Lesson Plans -- Internet activities that focus on current research efforts at the Long-term Ecosystem Observatory in 15 meters, known as LEO-15. These activities utilize real-time data from the Institutesí Marine Remote Sensing Laboratory and a meteorological tower located at the Rutgers University Marine Field Station in Tuckerton, NJ.
  • Tropical Biology in Costa Rica
    -- Dr. Rebecca Kapley, Assistant Professor of Biology at Cuyahoga Community College from Cleveland, OH lead a team of undergraduate students to study the tropical biology of the different regions of Costa Rica and communicated with students via e-mail and this web site. CHECK IT OUT!
